Your Built-in Motivation

Motivation is a dynamic force that fuels you to act.
Being charged by inspiring words is only a fleeting motivation.
The only dynamic that can motivate you for a lifetime is:
« Being Conscious of your Inner “Self” »

Once you are conscious of yourself,
there is no return.
Forget about stopping,
no one will even be able to touch you.

Your Built-in Motivation

Motivation”, a propelling force, that initiates, directs, and sustains your goal-oriented behaviour.

You must have seen most people or you could be among those seeking motivation outside from other inspiring persons, fueling words, those dynamics.

Why do you seek motivation?
Maybe because of a lack of the spirit to continue towards the goals, or sometimes just to find or get clarity about the goals, or maybe just to find the way how to do and succeed in it.

Do you get motivated? And how long from those dynamites?
Maybe one day, two days, three days, or maybe a few weeks, or if you’re really obstinate, it may stretch out to a month. But not more than that… Why?

Because your “Why” is not clear – “Why” of doing something.

But do you know: every person has the same “why” which fuels them to act, but unfortunately, most fail to perceive; consequently, they start seeking motivation or their “why” in the wrong direction.

Every human being carries their “why” within them.

Let’s see how…
Our biology has built-in motivation that’s been evolved through centuries. And it is the real dynamic that never fails to motivate, and sustains, even for a person’s entire life.

You’d have heard that “Dopamine” plays a key role in motivation, as it’s known as a reward-seeking hormone:
You achieve a goal; you feel good; your dopamine pushes you to do more; you feel motivated.

But there is more than that.

Ready to explore and meet your built-in motivation?

⦾ Motivation Tribalism:

A human’s whole life revolves around this concept, the centuries-old-evolved motivation.

“Motivation Tribalism” is the brain’s very old survival mechanism that denotes a human brain sorts people into two types, and recognizes and instinctively responds based on these two tribes: in-group (us) and out-group (them).

1.  In-group Tribe = “us”

(i)  External in-group:
people you identify with: family, friends, brothers, team, nation, or those seen as like-minded or caring.

(ii) Internal in-group:
your inner “Self”, mind, body, thoughts, feelings, values, curiosity, creativity, survival instincts, personal goals, and self-protection.

2. Out-group Tribe = “them”

(i)  External out-group:
people outside your in-group: rivals, competitors, or those seen as different or threatening.

(ii) Internal out-group:
stress, negativity, consuming fear, addiction, obsession, dejection, etc.

For a human’s entire life, their mind, emotions, and body are all working together as a team to keep them safe, grow them, and push them towards what matters most to them, and this push is the real motivational dynamic.

Our motivation always boils down to either defending and supporting “us” (in-group) or confronting and outperforming “them” (out-group).

So just like you defend your external in-group, you’re also constantly negotiating and sometimes defending or motivating parts of your internal in-group.

And you know, there is a hormone, named “Oxytocin”, which most people think of as the “love hormone” or “bonding hormone”, plays a key role as dopamine. It strengthens bonding, cooperation, trust, pride, and belonging within your in-group.

Research shows it can also amplify defensive or aggressive responses, rivalry, fear, or distrust towards out-groups, especially if they’re perceived as a threat to your in-groups.

And “Testosterone”, which is responsible for assertive, competitive, and dominant behaviours, may fuel aggression towards out-groups in competitive or threatening situations.

From an evolutionary standpoint, in ancient times, being loyal to your in-group and wary or even hostile towards out-groups helped protect resources, territory, safety, and ultimately, survival at the fittest.

Put it simply:
» Your brain is actually running ancient survival software on modern hardware as a motivational drive.

So the motivation and defense are tribalism on multiple levels, from the personal to the societal.

You seek motivation outside to get the fueling spirit, a propel, a goal, or just clarity.

> You lack fighting-spirit; you seek motivation.
> You are in low spirits; you seek motivation.
> You feel fear of the unknown; you seek motivation.
> You don’t know your ‘why’; you seek motivation.

You are always seeking motivation outside…

What are these? These are just a protection, a sustenance of your inner “tribe”.

But this motivation ends all into a short-term thrust.

Real motivation comes from within when you start understanding your inner self, listening to your inner voice because your innermost self already knows the “why” that you realize once you start being mindful of your internal inner tribe, your mind, your thoughts.

The “motivation”, in reality, is your identity defense system. When you seek motivation, you are actually seeking the way to protect your inner tribe, even if you aren’t aware of it.

For example, you feel hungry; you eat food. No push. No motivation. You just eat. Why? Because this body matters, regardless of whether you’re aware of it or not. Your survival instinct propels you to protect this body by eating. The same way your inner tribe matters, and you have to protect it by understanding and listening to your inner self. So why to seek motivation outside when it’s already built inside.

Once you begin listening to it, your inner self commands your mind, body, emotions to act in harmony to protect your true identity, your trueself, your inner tribe.

Then magic happens: Now there is no return once you are aware of your true self; you are always motivated. Even when you are not at your best, you feel motivated.

  • No need of any fleeting external push.
  • Just be conscious of your inner self.
  • Understand the nature of your trueself.
  • And listen to none – but yourself.

Remember,

The “why” isn’t something you find outside – it’s something you recognize inside your own inner tribe.
