When I reached the final chapter of the book I was skimming… a small Kindle title called 10 Habits To Transform Your Life… I was hit by something unexpected.
The last chapter was titled: The Benefits of Kissing.
I blinked. Kissing? That’s the final habit?
After all the talk about productivity, discipline, gratitude and journaling… we end with kissing? But then I kept reading.
The chapter wasn’t about kissing your beautiful lover… not exactly.
It was about something far more powerful:
KISS… Keep It Stupid Simple. And just like that, everything made sense.
Why KISS Is The Greatest Habit of All
The writer had cleverly used the metaphor of a kiss to illustrate the profound effect simplicity has on our lives.
Because here’s what a real kiss does:
✅ It clears your mind
✅ It helps you relax
✅ It calms your soul
✅ It brings you closer to another human being
✅ It lets you feel deeply
✅ It creates peace in chaos
✅ It becomes an anchor in uncertainty
✅ It builds connection without needing complex explanation
Now ask yourself:
Isn’t that exactly what simplicity does? When you keep things stupid simple… the way a child understands, the way a farmer explains, the way your grandmother would do it… you invite those same benefits into your life.
Simplicity heals confusion.
It creates focus.
It removes friction.
It makes connection effortless.
It brings peace to an otherwise overcomplicated existence.Just like a kiss.
The Modern Problem: Over-Complexity
We’ve built a culture that celebrates complexity.
We worship thick books with unreadable jargon, idolize white coats and academic elites, and think anything that’s easy must be wrong.
We overestimate lions… loud, proud, aggressive dominance.
And we underestimate rats… quiet, small, persistent simplicity. We believe the answer must be:
Hidden in a formula
Behind a paywall
In some five-star expert’s PDF
So we walk away from The Little Prince and pick up another 500-page diagnostic manual.
We forget that wisdom doesn’t always shout.
Sometimes, it just kisses you quietly on the forehead and says:
“KISS it.”How to Practice KISS
Here’s how you apply this philosophy when life gets tangled:
1. Find the Root… Ask WHY
What’s the one thing that’s really going on here?
What’s the one action that would fix most of this?
2. Forget the Noise
Ignore the extras, the fluff, the ten-step system.
Cut the crap.
Strip the problem naked.
3. Scratch Your Head, Then Structure
Now that you’ve found the root, structure a response around it.
Make it clear enough that a “stupid” version of you could follow it.
4. Solve
Act. Move.
Don’t decorate the solution.
Just hammer it in like a nail.
The Hammer Gun Lesson
I once watched a movie about the inventor of the rifle.
The man was told:“Make it simple… like a hammer.”
That’s what he did.
And it worked… everywhere, every time, by anyone.
Because when a solution is truly simple, it becomes universally powerful.
The Final Thought
You thought this chapter was about kissing someone you love.
It is.
Because KISS… Keep It Stupid Simple… is how you love your life.
It’s how you love your:
Time
Mind
Work
Relationships
It’s how you stay close to what matters.
It’s how you stay connected to the heart of things. So the next time you’re tangled in a mess…
don’t overthink it.
Don’t call the expert.
Don’t read another blog post.Just close your eyes…
… and KISS it.
